Sewing Classes
1. What type of sewing classes do you teach?
We teach children, teens and adults - beginner, intermediate and advance.
- Beginners - Non or very little knowledge on how to operate a sewing machine, basic stitches, basic fabric, basic patterns.
- Intermediate - knowledgable about operating a sewing machine, working with patterns, fabrics, tools,
- Advanced - Experienced and needing help with a particular skill, tool, fabric, pattern or design.
2. What age do you start children in your classes?
7 + years old unless they demonstrate an acute awareness of the sewing process.
3. Do you have kids classes during the school year?
Yes we have Saturday classes for kids September - May. We also offer homeschool classes by appointment on weekdays.
4. What will adults beginners learn in their first session (6 classes)?
Thorough understanding of how to operate a sewing machine while completing various skill tasks and projects. (garment, home decor and craft projects) Basic fabric knowledge, how to use a pattern and follow the instructions.
5. What if I want to sign up for more than 1 session?
Classes are designed so that you can continue as long as you feel necessary. Projects for the other sessions are based on what the student is interest in working on. Students are responsible for all the supplies after the beginner session. Our students do not necessarily work on the same projects. We like it when students have a particular sewing passion.
6. What if a miss a class during my session is there a way for me to make up that class ?
Yes that is allowed
7. Do you have summer camps?
Yes for 7+ - 16 year olds
8. Do you have private classes?
Yes we have 2 hour time slots available for private classes although we suggest our regular class since the class is kept small (4)
